England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been dropped from the squad for the second Test against Pakistan following an investigation into an incident at a club in Derby, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed.

The Cricket Regulator will investigate events that occurred on Saturday night, 22 August. The ECB stated that Carse will not be available for selection for the second men's Test while the investigation is ongoing and the full facts are obtained.

The 31-year-old Durham bowler, who did not play in the opening Test victory at Headingley, will be replaced by Sonny Baker.

Social media footage appeared to show Carse in handcuffs being spoken to by police officers outside a venue. Reports indicate that Carse was not arrested and no charges were brought. Derbyshire Police told the BBC that a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in Derby city centre on Saturday night, but was de-arrested shortly after having agreed to leave the area.
