Victory+ to dissolve following loss of sports broadcasting rights
The streaming service Victory+ is being dissolved by its parent company following a series of losses regarding sports broadcasting rights.
According to a report by the Dallas Morning News' Ishmael Johnson, the dissolution means the platform will no longer stream Texas high school football or games from the Dallas Stars. The Dallas Stars have moved their regular season broadcasts to Amazon Prime for the 2026-27 season, ending a two-year period with the service.
Victory+ had previously held deals with several sports organisations, including:
- NWSL
- NHL
- MLB
- WNBA teams
The service's collapse follows broader shifts in sports media, such as a multi-year agreement between the NHL and Amazon Prime Video. Under that deal, Prime Video will become the exclusive local streaming home for six NHL teams starting in the 2026-27 season: the Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues.
