Prince Harry and Meghan reportedly find new home in the Cotswolds
Prince Harry and Meghan have returned to the UK after six years in Montecito, reportedly finding a new home in the Cotswolds. The couple, accompanied by their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, have moved to the area following their departure for California in 2020.
The exact location of the new residence remains unknown, but the couple will reportedly retain their mansion in Montecito and a home in Portugal. Their children have reportedly been enrolled in local schools.
The Cotswolds, spanning Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, has become a location for various high-profile figures, including David and Victoria Beckham, Ellen DeGeneres, and Liam Gallagher. Former Highgrove gardener Charles Davis suggested Harry may have returned due to being "homesick," noting that Harry used to frequent the Rattlebone Inn in Sherston when living at Highgrove House.
Public reaction to the relocation has been mixed. Polling indicates that a majority of people hold unfavourable views of Meghan, 45, and Harry, 41. Local residents expressed varying perspectives on the move:
- Rachael Jones, 57, expressed hope the move would help heal the rift with Prince William.
- Steve Fryatt, 73, stated he felt "uneasy about them coming back and their motives," suggesting the move felt "unfair to William and Kate".
The move follows a rapprochement with King Charles III, who maintains a home, Highgrove House, in the region.
