Redding Finance Director Greg Robinett to step down in September - finance news

Greg Robinett will step down as Redding's Finance Director on 11 September due to a family opportunity. He will continue to serve as the city's elected Treasurer through December 2028.

Robinett joined the City of Redding in 2014 and was appointed Finance Director in 2023. In that role, he provided guidance on the budget, financial planning, and the city's long-term fiscal position.

The City Treasurer is an elected, part-time position that is separate from the Finance Director role. The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the investment of city funds in accordance with state law and the City Council's investment policy, alongside other duties related to the management of city funds.

I am extremely grateful to my staff, City leadership, and the Redding community for the opportunity to serve as Finance Director. It has been a privilege to work alongside so many dedicated people, and I look forward to continuing to serve the community in my role as City Treasurer.

Interim City Manager Michael Webb thanked Robinett for his service and contributions to the city and the community. Robinett will remain in his current position until 11 September to assist with the transition. The city will begin recruiting for a replacement and will announce interim finance leadership arrangements once plans are finalised.
