Longtime Oklahoma meteorologist Jed Castles is retiring from News 9. His final day broadcasting from KWTV in Oklahoma City will be Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Castles announced his departure in a Facebook video, stating his career as a meteorologist is ending "at least on TV."

"Seasons change, and my season is changing. To think back on the last 30 years that I've been able to have with you as my friends and my viewers, I can't wrap it in enough words in this short period of time to tell you how much I appreciate you, how thankful for you that I am."

Castles said he intends to spend more time with his family and dedicate more time to his church.
