Florida Mom Crystal Roure Dies in Husband's Attack Over NFL Game - news news

A Florida mother of three, Crystal Roure, was fatally attacked by her husband on Sunday, according to authorities. The incident, stemming from an argument over an NFL game, has left the community in shock and highlighted concerns about domestic violence. Roure, 38, died at a local hospital shortly after the attack.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call at a home in DeLand around 2:30 p.m. They found Roure suffering from serious injuries. Her husband, identified as Clint Roure, 40, was immediately taken into custody. He is currently facing charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, and further charges are expected as the investigation continues.

Those who knew Crystal Roure describe her as a devoted mother and a strong, independent woman. As a single mother, she prioritized the well-being of her children, often taking extra shifts at her job as a nurse to provide for them. Friends indicated that she had been cautious about introducing her children to Clint Roure, whom she had been dating for a relatively short period after meeting him at church.

“Crystal was a hero to her kids,” said a close friend, speaking on condition of anonymity. “She always put them first, and she was fiercely protective of them. This is just a tragic and senseless loss.”

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Roure's death. A GoFundMe page has been established to help support Roure's children.
